Digital Caregivers LLC ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the MedPlate mobile application and website ("the App").

Email address — Used for account creation, login, and support communication. Linked to your identity.

Health & Wellness

Medications & supplements — Names of prescriptions, OTC drugs, and supplements you choose to enter. Used to generate food guidance and interaction summaries. Linked to your identity. Not shared.
Dietary preferences, allergies, and dislikes — Self-reported. Used to personalize recipes and food suggestions. Linked to your identity. Not shared.

User Content

Saved meals and recipes — Items you save in the app. Linked to your identity. Not shared.
Grocery and scan history — Items you log or scan. Linked to your identity. Not shared.
Notes — Any notes you add to meals, medications, or items. Linked to your identity. Not shared.

Usage Data

Product interaction — Aggregated feature usage patterns. Used to improve the app. Not shared.

Data NOT Collected: We do not collect financial information, precise location, contacts, browsing history, search history outside the app, or advertising identifiers. We do not use any data for tracking or advertising purposes.

How We Use Your Information

In plain English: Your data powers your personalized food and medication guidance — nothing else.

App functionality — To provide food guidance, recipes, scanning, and food–medication interaction summaries.
Personalization — To tailor recipes and guidance to your medications, allergies, and preferences.
Payments — To process subscription purchases through the App Store.
Communication — To respond to support requests and send important service messages.
Analytics — Aggregated, non-identifying usage patterns to improve the app (no third-party advertising SDKs).

Third-Party Services & AI Data Sharing

In plain English: We use a small number of third-party services — none of them get your data for advertising or AI training.

MedPlate uses the following third-party services to operate:

Cloud hosting & authentication — A third-party cloud provider for secure data storage, authentication, and backend functions. Data is protected with industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest.
AI model providers — For generating recipes, food guidance, and food–medication interaction summaries.

AI Data Sharing

When you use AI-powered features, your medications, allergies, preferences, and the specific request you submit are sent to our AI model providers to generate a response.

Protections in place

No AI training — Providers are contractually prohibited from using your data to train or improve their AI models.
No advertising — Your data is not used for advertising by any provider.

Data Storage and Security

In plain English: Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and you can only access your own data.

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. We implement access controls that ensure you can only access your own data. We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to any third party. We share data only with the service providers described above, or when required by law.

Data Retention & Deletion

In plain English: Your data stays only as long as your account is active. Request deletion anytime and it's gone within 30 days.

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You may delete your account directly from Settings, or request complete deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting hello@digitalcaregivers.com. Upon deletion, all personal data is permanently removed within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

In plain English: MedPlate is designed for adults. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13, and the app is rated 17+.

MedPlate is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Due to the sensitive nature of medication-related content, we recommend the app for users aged 17 and older, matching its App Store age rating.

Changes to This Policy

In plain English: We'll always let you know when things change.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
